Peace Corps Story Slam
Returned Peace Corps Volunteers from Morocco, Niger, and Dominica will share their stories of serving in those countries, telling compelling tales about their personal experiences overseas. Get your questions answered about the Peace Corps while listening to some very interesting remembrances of what it's like to serve as a volunteer. Pizza will be served!

Foster Film Screening: Foster Care Awareness Month
From HBO, this 2019 documentary looks at the moving stories behind the largest county child protection agency in the U.S. Attend this film screening and discussion to understand challenges and barriers foster youth frequently face. Food will be provided.

Sock Creature Creation: Foster Care Awareness Month
Help serve our local organization, Skookum Kids, by spending time to make sock monkeys and other creatures that will be a treasured item for a youth in foster care. All materials will be provided, and no experience is required! Come for the snacks, company, and to serve. The event is coordinated by Western Success Scholars and with National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH).

WWU Witches Beltane Picnic
WWU Witches will be hosting an Outdoor picnic to welcome the pagan holiday, Beltane. We will have tea and pastries and will be learning/performing a specific Beltane ritual for anyone interested in learning more about Wiccan practices. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 1st, from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Outback Classroom(specifically, the hooded area by the north entrance of the Outback, right next to Fairhaven). Warm clothing is encouraged!

This event kicks off Foster Care Awareness Month that will boost resource awareness and referrals for former foster youth. All are welcome for food, conversation, and learning in community! If you have ever wanted to make a difference in politics, we are the place for you!
At the Young Democrats of Western, we bring together college voices from the entirety of the Democratic party to focus on real action and pushing our Democracy to the left. Our weekly meetings consist of education of Democratic issues and inside politics, training on how to get involved, events making a targeted difference, and guest speakers ranging from public officials, candidates and campaigns, to experts in their field. Our goal is to hold an open discussion on how best to make our world and party a better and more inclusive place.
